After growing up on a small farm in the Finger Lakes, it is no surprise that Paul has continued the path he set out on as a child.  From an early age has been raising and breeding livestock.  4H gave him an opportunity to branch out into dog obedience and training, though it wasn’t until his 30’s that he began to work exclusively with stock dogs.  Starting with Cattle Dogs, then to Australian Kelpies, and finally onto Border Collies. Where he has found success on the trial field competing and hosting USBCHA Sheep Dog Trials. 

Today he and his dogs can be found doing contract shepherding work, gathering sheep for shearing in Montana, putting on herding demonstrations, or competing in trials across North America. His current trial string is led by Reyn, a 8yo Border Collie.  A dog who has been both Champion and Reserve Champion at the Northeast “Fall Foliage” Finals, and responsible for an invitation to Soldier Hollow in 2024. She is backed up by 5yo Trypp, 3yo Pilsner, and 2yo Kody and Caiti. All of whom are stepping up and showing the world their brilliance.
